Freedom Cycles is very involved in the powersport riding community with much of our staff being avid riders themselves. Past to Present
Freedom Cycles started when our enthusiastic owner, Mike Stanfield, starting selling Husqvarna motorcycles out of his garage. The first dealership opened it's doors back in 1976 in Warrensburg, Missouri- the year of the bicentennial- sporting the name Freedom Cycles. Freedom Cycles remained in Warrensburg until opening a store in Grandview, Missouri in 1981.
To celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, Mike and his wife Jenni built a 30,000 square foot building which is still the current location of Freedom Cycles in 1995. In 2010, Freedom Cycles expanded to their existing building with a new 45,000 square foot showroom! Perfectly appropriate for their 45th wedding anniversary!
Freedom Cycles was deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved founder Michael Stanfield in March 2014. Michael's decades of racing and involvement in the powersport community greatly influenced many people, both associates and customers alike. His value of family, passion for riding and dedication to his business all combined to continue to fuel the success of Freedom Cycles. Freedom Cycles continues to be owned and operated by the Stanfield family fulfilling the mission of making each visit to Freedom Cycles an outstanding powersports experience.
